    Responsibilities

    Posting Title: Procurement Manager

    Location:Green River, Wyoming

     

    Position Summary: The Procurement group for the Green River operations is responsible for partnering with all areas of the business to acquire the necessary goods and services needed to keep the operation functioning in the most efficient and cost effective manner.  The Procurement Manager will lead a team of buyers and procurement specialists to procure Capex and MRO supplies, and to negotiate and execute service contracts that control and/or reduce costs.  Communication and leadership are vital parts of this role, and require strong relationship building and networking skills.  You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the group; coaching and developing your team. Identifying needs and capturing data to track and report metrics is integral to the success of this role, in addition to adhering to all necessary procurement and financial policies.  You will help develop procurement strategies and work with the team to implement those strategies.  We are looking for someone with at least five years of procurement experience in chemical processing, mining industry, or heavy manufacturing.  You will work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment which requires flexibility and strong communication with both internal and external partners.     

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Area budget, including capital spending and forecast
    • People development
    • Long-term and short-term planning
    • Communication with other business areas
    • KPI data and Management Control and Reporting System
    • Department safety action plan and safety results
    • Area ISO 9000 system
    • Materials Management for surface and mine operations
    • Compliance with purchasing standards, corporate standards, commercial law
    • Site inventory and procurement strategies
    • Contingency planning for work-stoppage
    • Other duties as assigned

    Activities:

    • Manage performance management and compensation systems
    • Coordinate department resource and staffing requirements
    • Participate in site-wide networks
    • Facilitate problem solving and improvements
    • Prioritize work and projects
    • Resolve conflicts including employee grievances and safety issues
    • Oversee root cause analysis and corrective actions
    • Maintain knowledge of impact of Materials Management performance on surface and mine operations
    • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with purchasing standards, corporate standards, commercial law
    • Develop and manage site inventory and procurement strategies
    • Coordinate with corporate strategic sourcing group
    • Oversee sourcing and contract negotiation for major services and supplies
    • Oversee purchasing operations
    • Oversee stores operations (surface and mine)
    • Provide input and information for plant areas for budget
    • Support ISO 9000 effort

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university OR High School diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution with professional certification in a related procurement or supply management field
    • 5 years of Materials Management experience in a relevant industrial field
    • 3 years of supervisory experience
    • Intermediate MS Office skills

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • 10 years of Materials Management experience
    • Experience in large-scale manufacturing, chemical processing, or mining strongly preferred
    • Professional certification such as CSCP, CPSM, CPP, or SPSM
    • SAP skills
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
