    Posting Title: Process Control Engineering Trainer

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Training and development of Process Control Engineers (PCE)

    • Process Control training and development procedures and checklists

    • Record keeping and documentation

    • Process control project scopes and plans

    • Design and implementation of new control system projects

    • Technical resource in Process Control

    • Compliance with process safety, ergonomics, MSHA, ISO 9000, environmental agencies, applicable codes and regulatory agencies

    • Understand industry standards, techniques, and advancements

    • Develop and maintains proficiency and knowledge of process control networks, capital deployment processes, process control network security, process control system hardware, and multiple programming languages

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Key Activities:

    • Provide on the job training for PCEs including:

      • Working collaboratively on projects led by other PCEs while providing guidance and training during the joint work

      • Leading process control projects and engaging other PCEs as appropriate to provide training

      • Teaching other PCEs the systems such as Siemens, Measurex, Foxobor, PI, and networks with the intent of making other PCEs capable of all tasks such as programming, back-up, recovery, and troubleshooting the systems.

    • Teaching other PCES process control cycbersecurity practices and implementations with the intent of creating secure process controls systems where every engineer knows security expectations

    • Develop, manage, and tracking training plan(s) for each PCE as requested by PCE department leader

    • Develop training and development procedures and checklists

    • Work with Process Control Engineering group to develop process control system policies, procedures and checklists

    • Assist in developing scopes and plans for process control projects, including long term plans for process control systems and networks

    • Participate in resource and staff planning

    • Provide process control system training for maintenance and operations personnel:

      • Develop training and development procedures and checklists

      • Provide classroom and on the job training

     

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Engineering
    • 15 years of relevant process controls experience experience
    • PLC, DCS hardware, architecture, and wiring experience
    • Programing experience and interest
    • Knowledge of control theory and thorough understanding of common instrumentation
