    Responsibilities

    Posting Title: Sr. Supply Chain Analyst

    Internal Title: Sr. Supply Chain Analyst, Packaged Material OR Bulk Material Manager
    Location:Philadelphia, PA

    Pay Grade(s): 18-20 (depending on education and experience)

    Position Summary:

    The position will develop and hone multi-modal distribution skills in the areas of relationship and contract management, customer service, and cost systems management by managing inventories at multiple trans-load operations and assisting in the development and execution of multi modal distribution and logistics strategies.
    The candidate must be a well-disciplined, analytical, and creative person able to manage multiple priorities and drive service enhancements cost savings that will benefit the company and customers. The individual must have strong learning skills as well as be team oriented to quickly learn and understand all aspects of the business and to create “win-win” scenarios.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Relationship & Contract Management
      • Negotiate contracts including (but not limited to): External warehousing, external packaging, ocean freight, intermodal, and dry van tucking or transload (rail to truck and truck to rail), bulk trucking, bulk storage, and logistic service agreement
      • Manage day to day activities including: inventory management, packaging scheduling, trucking, ocean freight shipments and strategies to support commercial needs
    • Distribution and Logistics Strategies
      • Manage inventories at multiple trans-load locations, warehouses and external packaging operations.
      • Assist with the execution of short-term and long-term strategies to achieve business objectives.
      • Manage movement of goods to trans-load facilities, warehouse, external packaging and ports
        • Arrange appropriate transportation mode
        • Inspect facilities/establish new terminals as required
        • Handle service issues
        • Manage inventory
    • Cost and Systems Management
      • Manage and forecast costs for freight, and assessorial charges associated with trans-loader, warehouse and packagers
      • Audit and approve invoices for services at trans-loaders, warehouses and external packagers
      • Audit and process ship invoices, surveyor invoices, and stevedore invoices
      • Helps solve system problems relative to freight and logistics in INTELLITRANS and RATEMAKER.
      • Calculate and communicate the monthly truck fuel surcharge allowance to Sales & Marketing, RATEMAKER, and CASS.
    • Customer Support
      • Support ASR’s and OFM’s for invoicing, rating, and freight-related issues.
      • Provide timely quotes of distribution expenses for potential customers.
      • Assist as needed to problem-solve truck issues
      • Assist as needed to problem-solve shipping issues
      • Problem-solve escalated issues as required at trans-loaders, packagers, and warehouses
      • Work with railroads and external resources to reduce overload railcars
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Supply chain or related field
    • 3+ years of relevant supply chain logistics experience
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relatipnships
    • Cost management experience - managing, forecasting and benchmarking
    • Proven analytical experience
    • Strong learning agility
    • Basic/Intermediate/Advanced/Expert MS Office skills

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • 5-10 years of relevant supply chain logistics experience
    • Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts
    • Supply chain software experience. Specifically:
      • Ratemaker
      • IntelliTrans
      • CASS
