    Responsibilities

     

    External Title: Underground Mine Supervisor

    Internal Title: Mine Supervisor

    Location: Green River, WY

    Grades: 18-20

     

     

    Position Summary:

     

    The role of the Underground Mine Supervisor is to provide leadership and direction in the achievement of mining and production goals with the highest level of safety. This position is also responsible for the development of Mine employees and the efficient operation of the Mine. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills, passion for safety and efficiency, challenged by being in an underground mine environment and looking forward to a new job adventure. 

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Plan, organize and control mine activities
    • Prepare work notification plan for manpower and necessary parts
    • Ensure mining teams have a clear understanding of production expectations, required performance levels and measures
    • Provide employees with the technical training and continuous development required to perform their necessary tasks
    • Practice open communication with all mine employees
    • Maintain safety and environmental practices through regular inspection and observation of equipment, required preventative attire and  health/personnel issues
    • Enforce all MSHA rules and regulations
    • Maintain all warranty and repairable parts data
    • Collaborate with all mine employees and supervisors to produce at the most efficient cost without sacrificing safety
    • Perform all administrative duties such as time cards, OT and vacation approval
    • Determine crew member tools and supply budget
    • Handle conflict resolution following policies and procedures
    • Act as Fireboss when required
    • Additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • B.S. in Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university OR High School diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) with 3 years of underground mining or maintenance operations experience
      • 5 years of underground mining or maintenance operations experience preferred
    • Currently holds or able to obtain Wyoming Mine Foreman papers - Trona within 1 year
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Basic MS Office skills

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • 1 year of line supervisory experience
      • 5 years of line supervisory experience strongly preferred
    • 5 years of experience in underground utilities, belt, operations, and/or maintenance strongly preferred
    • Graduate degree
    • Engineering degree
