    Posting Title: Environmental Engineering Coordinator

    Position Summary

    The Environmental Engineering Coordinator brings to the table a strong ability in planning across the Environmental Department and all of its needs.  This is accomplished through cross functional interactions across the site (Mine and Production sites) addressing the environmental, regulatory, and compliance needs of the business including day-to-day operations and capital projects. Additional responsibilities include maintaining, up-to-date knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and compliance oversight for Genesis Alkali in such areas as air, water, land, wildlife, waste, toxics, and DOT and ensure compliance through regulatory notification, reporting, and permitting. We’re looking for a Rock Star to drive sustainability in the mining industry through planning and technical expertise.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable environmental regulations
    • Apply for and obtain permits and agreements for new and on-going operations
    • Regulatory compliance oversight (air, water, land, wildlife, waste, toxics, DOT)
    • Regulatory notification, reporting, and permitting
    • Coordination and oversight of a major plant or program environmental activities
    • Employee development and performance, including performance assessments and the preparation of employee development plans
    • Environmental and safety audits
    • Monitor site compliance on an ongoing basis and work with the plants to collaboratively and pro-actively address issues
    • Other duties as assigned



    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Associate's degree in Environmental Science or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an environmental emphasis, Environmental Management,  or physical sciences from an accredited year college or university
    •  1 year of relevant environmental experience
    • 3 years of chemical or manufacturing plant or mining experience

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • 3 years of air quality experience with permitting, reporting, emission estimates
    • Familiarity with Hazardous Waste rules & regulations
    • Other certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) or experiences such as SAP
    • 5 years of relevant environmental experience
    • 5 years of chemical or manufacturing plant or mining experience
