    Responsibilities

    Posting Title: Sales & Marketing Manager - Animal Nutrition Industry

    Internal Title: Global Manager - Animal Nutrition Industry
    Location:Home Office based


    Position Summary: Manage, promote and grow current $50M/year Genesis Alkali’s buffer portfolio to the Animal nutrition industry.  Leverage industry commercial and regulatory relationships to expand product portfolio profitably.  Advocate internally for the Animal Nutrition business and ensure capital and resources are appropriately deployed.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for Segment Profitability
    • Market Strategy Development – Domestic and Global
    • Understand Competitive Dynamics of Global Sodium Animal Nutrition Market
    • Direct Report Management and Development
    • Strategy Implementation, specific to Geographic Region and Species.
    • Budget and Forecast Preparation
    • Contract and Pricing Agreements per Signing Authority
    • Sales - Agent and Direct Customer Management
    • Research and Development: Animal Nutrition Project Implementation.
    • Write / Review / technical literature, advertisements, press releases, et cetera
    • Evaluate expansion opportunities for Animal Nutrition (M&A, JV, Licensing, etc.)
    • Logistics / Supply Chain Interaction and Optimization (rail, truck, packaging, etc.)
    • Regulatory Understanding of Domestic (FSMA, FDA, etc.) and Foreign Registration Requirements
    • Representation at Industry Meetings
    • Other duties as assigned

     Key Activities

    • Provide input for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forecastBudgeting
    • Active Management of Sales Agent Teams
    • Contract Negotiation with Customers
    • Internal Communication Negotiation
    • External Technical Presentations
    • Research Project Design, Implementation, and Evaluation
    • Travel, Domestic and International as needed
    • Data analytics specific to Animal Nutrition business

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in animal nutrition is required. PhD.in Ruminant Nutrition or similar field is strongly preferred
    • 10+ year of relevant animal nutrition industry experience
    • Basic business management expertise is required, like managing a P&L, budgeting, and net profit
    • Good technical knowledge of real-world commercial livestock nutrition applications
    • Demonstrated success in business planning.
    • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements
    • Understanding of logistics and supply chain
    • Flexible travel 30-60%, including some international travel
    • Strong business savvy and ability to navigate internal and external corporate structures
    • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office and ERP
    • Excellent learning agility and adaptability

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition or Ruminant Nutrition
    • Ruminant Nutrition field of study
    • 15+ years of experience
    • Excellent communication strongly preferred
    • Strong decision making
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships both internally and externally
