    Responsibilities

    Posting Title: Process Control Engineer

    Internal Title: Control Systems Engineer

    Location: Green River, WY

    Pay Grade: 20-22

     

    Position Summary:

    The Process Control Engineer is a key contributor at our Green River, WY facility, supporting the Control Systems Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will provide application/control systems design and development for systems of varied complexity to support capital plant and maintenance engineering projects. The Control Systems Engineer will be required to develop technical solutions and evaluates alternative system solutions that meet best practices and corporate requirements.  

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Design and implementation of new control systems projects
    • Provides application/control systems design and deelopment for systems of varied complexity to support capital plant and maintnenance engineering projects
    • Develops and evaluates alternative system solutions that meet stated requirements
    • Modifies program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems
    • Develops proficiency in multilpe programming languages
    • Analyze requirements, procedures, and problems to identify the system components and develop the design and functional specifications for the automation systems
    • Ensure projects comply with regulatory requirements
    • Technical resource in process control
    • Compliance with Process safety, ergonomics, MSHA, ISO 9000, environmental agencies, applicable codes and regulatory agiencies
    • Ensure projects comply with COS
    • Departmental record keeping and databases
    • Manage the process control network development and problems
    • Responsible for Process control problems shutting down operations
    • Additional duties may be assigned

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    Grade 20

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Engineering
    • 8 years of relevant process control/engineering experience

    Grade 22

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Engineering
    • 15 years of relevant process control/engineering experience
    • PLC, DCS hardware architecture and wiring experience
    • Programing experience and interest, knowledge of control theory and thorough understanding of common instrumentation

     

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Engineer in training certificate or professional engineering license
    • Knowledge of computer network
